Section 6 - Children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities

The nursery has a clear policy for the inclusion of children with special or exceptional needs, all the staff have an awareness of this policy and know who the SENCO is and the relevance of reporting concerns etc. They have knowledge of how to implement and record lEP’s. The importance of doing these in partnership with parents/carers and working with appropriate agencies. All quality criteria were met for this section. The SENCO keeps all relevant documentation and reports on individual children. Children are well supported throughout the setting including those with additional needs. The staff have received the appropriate training and they have a behavioural management policy, which is implemented, throughout the nursery.
