Section 3 - Care and Education

      The staff have a good understanding of the Birth to three matters framework and put this into practice. The nursery planned, monitored and evaluated all activities which assisted the children in meeting their Early Learning Goals, this was all to a very high standard.

Throughout the nursery adult interaction only enhanced the play, giving the children positive experiences. The staff have a good knowledge and understanding of the varying needs of the children and were able to provide appropriate responses to their needs.  Play for the younger children was well planned but implemented in a relaxed and informal and very flexible ensuring that the individual needs of all the young children are met The foundation stages of training had been completed by some staff; this was then cascaded down to other members of the team. The play throughout the nursery was so varied and interesting it made for a calm relaxed atmosphere; an observation was made of where activities were child led and adapted to the varying needs of the individual child Children are encouraged to do things for themselves and individuality is recognised and promoted. Children were encouraged to initiate their own activities and independence is strongly enhanced by the provision. Children were given praise and encouragement at their own level and in a way they could understand and gain pride from.
